The poet is, as poets go,
A being of augmented thought
And although speaking rather slow,
Is missing out on nought.

The singer is, the poet knows,
A individual with a gift
As when their voices they do throw,
It gives the heart a lift.

The musician, knows the poets speed
And plays on every string,
Then from the poets words they feed
Bringing joy to those who sing.

So intricately interlaced as the stars
That no wordsmith can refute,
A poetical singer with a guitar
Goes home with all the loot!

Life: Then and Then Testing era and total crime,
"Troubled boy", the old man whines
Hard of hearing sign the signs
Recalling life lessons of bygone times.

Round and round the wheel it goes,
Liken to water, downward flows
Until, as justice, in the wind it blows.
So stalls time of the decaying rose.

"But why should we?" I hear the call
In a whine of bullets the shadows fall,
Stealing thoughts, looks, life and all.

Politics: The Dream Damn the thought of those within.
I feel the hurt confined within
I feel the ultra eminent grind
Of hardened feelings left to find

Repeating words, it is a sin
But damn the thoughts of those within
I cannot help the infernal din
Of broken dreams and feelings grim

Scream and shout injustice flout
Yes we're fighting, but what about
Kick and scream, make a scene
Always make sure you are seen

Employment, none, so what's the dream?
The way we're treated is obscene
Educated grant and dread of fees

Segued mental muscles stretch,
Solace securing slushy signs
A sponsor of inflexible times.

Still in search of the sentient hum
Signing silence with use of thumb
Signals something just begun
Still we slither on silly pun.

Smiling, happy, foolish grin
Smirking at the thoughts within
Still maintain our faith, quite thin...

The Blade Steel sings on watered stone
Reminding one of being alone
Sliding, gliding, Oh so slow
Glistening beads of water flow

Again it rings on sharpening steel
Hiding what I really feel
Sliding over material smooth
To others I will try and prove

Now the note a subtle sigh
As threads of cloth float on by
Gliding on a skin like strip
Beads of blood coldly drip

I cut and slice to prove a thought
Searching for, I know not what
Then cover up the blooded wound

A long deep bath starts with a single toe dipped in the water.

Sunday 2^nd My sister, Mary King, is currently lying in 2^nd place at Badminton Horse Trials. This is a very prestigious event and one of the top events in World Equestrianism. Mary has won the event twice before but if she wins this year, at 48 years old she will be the oldest ever winner of the title. GO MARY!!!

Monday 3^rd... I can't bring myself to watch Mary on TV, so I'm going out to get some photographs on a different topic all together!!!
Just got back from a great day out, photo's soon, Mary knocked a jump and the resulting penalties dropped her to 4th position.

Tuesday 4^th Day off today, filling bird feeders, weeding, taking plastic bottles for re-cycling, vacuuming, emptied the dish washer then hang the washing out as well as writing a poem for you...

The Old Girl The Old Girl

Reflecting life on wrinkled skin
hides an existence, deep within
tormented by a selfless vow
openly seen in her furrowed brow.

Where to hunt that tarried mole
that digs inside her mortal soul
rooting out the dead wood tree
trying hard to set her free.

It is but truth that she wants out
but who shall bear the monsters clout
when unprotected she must play
with tempestuous folly every day.

Truly brave she settles down
serene of face with eyes, deep brown
Opens her heart to all to see
her heart as strong as an old oak tree.

Wednesday 5^th Found out that I am going to be working away for the next two weeks. Sleeping in the cab of a lorry driving Potatoes around the country... could be fun

Thursday 6^th - Election Day - Got to bed at 1am this morning, back up at 5.30 to open the Community Centre for the public to cast their votes at 6am!
Wrote a little ditty this morning:

My Nemesis You know the one,
it has a smile
and walks beside you
for mile on mile.
It pushes gently
when you need to stand,
then, when you need it,
it lets go of your hand.
it travels light
and will not help,
then when it's quiet,
lets out a yelp.
It's child like thoughts
often catch unaware
those that listen
but do not care.
so what is it
this hindrance?
I must beat it,
my confidence.

Friday 7^th - Woken up at 5am by my mobile... Worked, unexpectedly until 11.30pm!

Saturday 8^th Weekend madness! Too much going on in the community Centre, so we went shopping for caravan accessories!

Sunday 9^th Good morning world. Off for two weeks tomorrow morning, don't think I'll be on line much as I'll be sleeping and living in the lorry. Catch you later.

Andy is doing really well and has been invited to exhibited his work in the US as well as in a number of places in the UK.
